Main Description

For every project identified as in scope for Capgemini (as a project to be delivered or accepted into Run), a Project Assessment Report needs to be produced together with a service impact assessment that articulates any variance to the contracted service scope and the impact as a result of projects that are in progress or completed during the transition period.

Typically, it may be to:

  • Increase the scope of service (or reduce it)
  • Increase the level of customization (or reduce it)
  • Change the current status of documentation (e.g. project is not delivering documentation updates, regression pack updates).

In addition there may be projects that transition is dependent on or are dependent on transition. These also need to be assessed as appropriate and agreed.

The project assessment and resultant Service Impact Report (SIR) detail the relevant commercial impacts to the contract with the implementation of the projects as defined.

The assessment may include a review of:

  • Project scope, assumptions and constraints
  • The project plan (including. progress, robustness, contingency and cutover plans)
  • Current status
  • Change controls
  • External dependencies
  • Resource plans
  • Non-manpower costs (e.g. third parties, licenses, services)
  • Test strategy and plans
  • Documentation, knowledge management and user training plans
  • Knowledge Exchange requirements for project take-on
  • Quality process
  • Risk and issue management including mitigation plans
  • Priorities.

The WIP Lead must:

  • Update the WIP Projects Inventory with all of the relevant information gathered
  • Update the Service Engagement Risk Log and Service Engagement Issue Log as appropriate.
